Why LED Light Therapy?

At Event Skincare, we always look to improve our clients' treatment results and better post-treatment recovery. Therefore, we include Celluma LED Light Therapy during most skin treatments.

The anti-inflammatory effects of LED make it valuable to encourage healing while reducing erythema, swelling, and bruising post-procedure.

Celluma is unique and quite unlike any other low-level light therapy device available today. Based on NASA research, Celluma delivers blue, red, and near-infrared light energy simultaneously to treat a wide variety of conditions. Different molecules absorb each wavelength which acts as a signalling mechanism for different cellular processes. For example, some reduce inflammation and kill bacteria, while others enhance localized circulation. Celluma products are FDA cleared for pain management and skin conditions.

What are the wavelengths of LED light, and how do they work?

Red Light- 640nm

Red light is visible and absorbed by the mitochondria, boosting cellular metabolism to enhance cell vitality, increase collagen production, and increase collagen and elastin fibres turnover.

Near-Infrared LED- 880nm

However, near-infrared LED light is absorbed in the cell membranes (the layer around the cell), targets macrophages and mast cells. These cells amplify collagen and elastin formation, producing greater skin volume.

Simply put, the two LED light source combined provides compromised cells with added energy, so the cell's performance is enhanced. Fibroblast cells will increase collagen and elastin production in connective tissue to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and increase the rate of wound healing.

Blue LED- 465nm

Blue light is an excellent acne treatment. Blue LED light therapy emits specific, clinically-proven wavelengths of light to trigger an all-natural effect in human tissue, killing acne-causing bacteria, decreasing inflammation, and improving skin tone, texture, and clarity from the inside out.

The light activates the porphyrins produced by the p-acnes bacteria, which causes a reaction that destroys the bacteria.

If you're searching for a more innovative approach to skincare, Celluma LED Light Therapy after In-Office Treatments is a clear choice and included at no extra charge.
